My 2Crafty Shares for August

Hello My turn over at 2Crafty Chipboard.

 My first one is another in my Dr Who Series. This is my favourite Dr, Tom Baker 

otherwise known as the 4th Dr. Probably the most iconic of all the Dr Who's with his extra 

long scarf, hat and long coat.

"Anyone for a Jelly Baby?"

2 Crafty Chipboard pieces used

"Light Bulbs"

 "Giant Gears"

"Chevron Bits"

"Dotty Bits"

I wanted to make this a colourful piece like the Drs. scarf and his Jelly babies! So I coloured the "Chevron Bits" with heavy ink and then heat embossed over the top with coordinating colours.

I applied a similar finish to the "Giant Gears". .

The "Light Bulb", I simply painted with white acrylic paint so it would stand out.

The "Dotty Bits" make up the last of the chippy bits. I used gelatos to
 colour them and then smudged it to blend.

My next piece is a soft glittery girly page.

"Large Leafy Vine"

"Mini Word Set 1"

I painted the "Large Leafy Vine" with gesso first and then added a sparing amount of glue once the gesso had dried. After it was a little bit tacky, I dipped the "Large Leafy Vine" into some glitter to coat it.

The "Messy Square Frames" are trimmed to sit slightly off the page. I also painted them in white gesso and then once they were dry I scraped a layer of paint over the top.

I used the same paint to add some splats around the page. The title was created by using two of the words from the "Mini Word Set 1". Amazing and beauty. I used the same technique that I used on the "Large Leafy Vine": but with more glue so that more glitter would stick!

7 Dots Challenge for August September

Hello! Today I'm sharing with you my interpretation of 7 Dots Studio's current challenge "Vacation Time". Our idea of a good vacation or holiday as we refer to it here in Australia, is heading down on to the beach.

The challenge theme is "Vacation Time"

I could not wait to use the new Verano Azul collection designed by Tusia Lech. I began by framing my photo using the Clear Stamp Set.

The 12x12 paper  "Pureness" was perfect for my background. The gorgeous blue sky matched my photo of Hubby fishing at the beach. I made some elements to add to the piece by using the element stickers and some wooden tags.

I cut out all the little wood panel pieces from the 6x6 paper in all different colours to compliment the photo and backlground and to represent drift wood on the beach and the wood the jetty is made from.

I finished it off with some color shine splatters and added a title using the Die Cut Elements and Element Stickers.

The Ken Oliver papers are so striking. The butterflies in particular took my attention immediately. I knew straight away I wanted to create something using them as the main feature.

My dilemma ...... how was I going to cut out the butterfly's from the background paper to use the way I wanted in my creation without leaving a giant gaping hole in the paper?

13Arts Challenge for August

Have you been over to the 13 arts blog to see the current challenge? Geometric shapes and pastels. This is my take. I have chosen circles as my geometric shape and lilac and teal as my pastel colours.

I love my time down the beach. This is a photo of my toes in the sand on my favourite beach. I created the circles using the "Tattered Circles" stencil and the circles stamp.

I added some little dragonfly wings and a title "Fly Away" from the sticker sheet "Days and Nights".

The background paper also has circles on it. It is "Virgo" from the Starlight collection.

A few purple sequins and some tiny glass beads finshed the project off.

13Arts Final Guest Design Piece

Hello Fiona here with you for my final share as part of the Guest Design team. What an awesome journey this has been as a 13 @rts Guest Designer. I have absolutely loved my time here. The team is so friendly and the products ... well what can I say, they have been my favourite ever since I first saw them being demonstrated by the very talented Aida.

The piece I've created is a photo of my boy when he was much smaller that he is now. Boy how time flies!!

I created this layout by using some of the sprays from the range. I wanted to use blue hues so I picked out some of the most gorgeous blues available in the collection. That’s what I love about the 13@rts sprays, the colour range is fabulous and growing all the time. Blue is not just blue!

I wanted to show you how the sprays cling so well to any surface. For this project I have used a canvas board. I was very impressed how the colour stayed so bright even after it was dried and how, when applied on top of the wet Modeling paste, it crackled ever so slightly when I dried it with my heat tool. A brilliant effect!

I also used the Ayeeda Splash Inks in the black and white. The consistency is amazing. Thick enough to splash but thin enough to flick to get a smaller effect. The coverage with the white is amazing. Even after it has dried it is strong in colour.

  As I mentioned before, I have absolutely loved my time as part of the Guest Design team. It will be sad to say goodbye. I hope you have enjoyed seeing the projects I have created. Thank you to all of you for your support. I hope to be creating for you again one day xx

Scrap Around the World August Moodboard Inspiration

Hello! It's the middle of the month so that means, mid month reveal over at Scrap Around the World.

The August moodboard was created by 

Jaya Raghuvanshi {India} 

based on the theme of "explore, dream, discover" 

Here is my take.

My husband and I love to travel this great land of ours. This photo is us on our way to Blinman from Parachilna north of the Flinders Ranges National Park in South Australia. 

I wanted to emphasise the inspirational words from the moodboard "Explore, Dream, Discover".

I also wanted to emphasise the little Australia on the "Destination Unknown" paper designed by DeeDee Catron for 7 Dots Studio. So I drew around it with my black journal pen.

I drew from the colours in my photo to add to my layout.

And added some gold on to the textured background I created.
