7 Dots Studio Vintage Art Piece

Hello I'm here with you today to show you a vintage ephemera piece I have created using the 7 Dots Studio Dreamscapes collection.

I have found that this collection lends itself perfectly to old ephemera and seeing I'm a HUGE fan of old ephemera this has been so enjoyable for me.

I used some watercolors to add some interest to the old music book title page that I have used as my centre piece.

I incorporated lots of old bits and pieces of cloth as well as some of the patterned paper from the range. I also enhanced the piece with masking tape and some staples because I love both of these elements when working with a vintage rustic sort of piece.

I created a little feature on the right hand side by adding a tag from the 12x12 page. These tags are just so versatile. I find myself using them in all sorts of projects.

I hope this vintage art piece has given you some inspiration to try your own insinuative ephemera creation. I'll frame this one and hang it in my studio. See you all again soon xx

SPALSH INK! Art journal page for 13Arts

Hello everyone! I'm here today to share with you a little art journal spread I created for 13Arts using the incredible SPLASH! inks. if you haven;t tried these little beauties then you don't know what you're missing!

The 13 Arts SPLASH! inks are like nothing else I've ever used. they are acrylic so they are opaque not transparent AT ALL. they dry thick and are highly pigmented.

Their dimension gives them a finish like no other product on the market. They come in plain colours and in glitter colours and are the perfect finishing touch for any project!

the colour range is extensive and they are very reasonably priced. you HAVE to have these in your stash. You won't regret it!

7 Dots Studio Art Journal Page with Process Video

Hello today I'm here with you to share a process video on an art journal page I have made for 7 Dots Studio.

I made a double page spread with a hessian inclusion. This is one of my new journals and I'm just loving the varied papers and textures in it.

I attached some tags from the 12x12 sheet to the hessian inclusion piece using a stapler and then they became a part of the design and almost another whole page of its own.

I added some abstract style painting over the whole page including on the inclusion. I love being random when I paint.

I created some little feature pieces using both the element stickers and the die cut elements. These are great little embellishments for your projects.

Sit back and enjoy the process video. You will be able to watch the layer upon layer process that I took to create this fun piece of art. I'll see you all again very soon xx

She Just Appeared

Hello I'm here with you today to share an art journal page I have created using one of the latest release's of stamp plates designed by our champion designer DeeDee Catron (love your work babe)

I really had no idea where this one was going when I started it. I know I wanted to  use the Turquoise and that was about it. So that is where I started.

Then I collaged on some run off paper I had used in a previous print making project that involved the fabulous stamps from plate 1495

Because the colours in this were yellow and red, that's where the page started to go. I love it when my art is influenced by something out of my control.

And then ...... this face appeared. I just love the way it surprised me. That's the best kind of art .... the ones you don't expect.

My latest Post For Donna Downey's Artist Gang

Hello peeps. My turn over on the Artist Gang Blog with a quick little art journal spread.

I have created with some of the Holbein Artists heavy Body Acrylics today. I am in love with them to say the least!!!

I choose a cool colour combination for my background with the blues and greens and then topped it off with a brilliant neon colour for the stencil. I mixed the neon with some Titanium White paint so that it could be a little more opaque.

Here is a link to the video so you can watch the whole process unfold.
