My First reveal for Scrapki-wyzwaniowa "Scent"

WOW!!! Scrapki-wyzwaniowa (loosely translated it means "Scrap by Challenge")

I really can't express how excited I am to be on this team ...... Seriously, it is FULL of International talent and then there's me LOL but you know what? that's exactly what I need to help me push myself to discover knew ways of expressing myself through my scrapbooking.

So here is my first piece ....... The theme "Scent". I just couldn't go past the Australian gum tree and it's aromatic eucalyptus leaves as my choice.

I chose to use the 7Dots Studio paper collection "Cold Country"  by Finnabair because the earthy tones in the paper suited my gum leaves perfectly and the paper has a tree knot pictured in the lower right hand corner. Seeing my leaves come from a giant tree, it couldn't get more suitable!

I kept the background very simple with some light layers of coordinating water colour and some shimmery Heidi Swapp Shine splatters.

The title is again simple. Small black foam letters. I also added some stamping underneath "Dream, Believe, Discover" in different font types. These big gum trees are perfect for resting under on a hot sunny day. I love to surround myself with them when we go on our camping trips. My time spent under them is full of dreaming, believing and discovery so the words describe my time with these trees.

 This is our camping set up. I often take my scrapping bits and pieces with me and create while in the bush. I call it "Scramping"!

And of course these little fellas love them!

I was so surprised at how much I really do love this smell. Once I got the leaves into my scraproom and the aroma started to permeate the air, I realised it's a smell that relaxes me, makes me happy and so the page was very enjoyable to create. I definitely think I need more smells surrounding me when I create. It really helps get the creative mind flowing :)
