Kraft Plus August Challenge GD

Hello lovely peeps!! Today I am sharing with you my Guest Design piece representing Scrappy Chat Designs for this months challenge over at Kraft Plus. The theme is "Tassel Time"

I made a bohemian styled banner to hang on the handles of my antique dresser I have in my entry way. Here is the inspirational panel that guided my arty ideas!!

And here are some close ups.

I made the tassels from some jute twine, fluffy knitting nylon and colored mini cotton yarn from Spotlight.

I added some Kraft tags between the tassels. Each one decorated in it's own way using Tinby Designs Metallic Melts on the chipboard pieces and some of the new Tinby Designs Color Crush powders to color the background.

Each tassel is held together with some thin gold wire which I've also used to attach them to the banner string.

This is a super cool challenge and I hope you get involved as the prizes are awesome!!!

Head on over to see all of the other amazing creations too.

You can see them all HERE

Thanks for popping in xx

A Journal Page for 13Arts

Hello my beautiful friends. I'm here with you today to share a little art journal spread I have created using the electric 13@rts METALLIC! paints.

These gorgeous set of colors were designed by the very talented Olga Heldwein. I love how creamy and smooth they are and a little bit goes a very long way!

The background checkered pattern is from a left over spraying session I had a long time ago. When I use stencils on my layouts, I don't waste anything. I open my art journal and on a fresh page I press down the left over spray.

I decorated the little squares with the METALLIC! paints and used the gesso to transfer some heart shapes onto some black card. I found the METALLIC! Paints also made great splatters!

Once it was dry I used the METALLIC! Paints again to color them. Then I tore them out and stuck them onto the page.

I finished the little page off with a clear gold sticker form the "Out of the Blue" collection.

Two little Tags for 7 Dots Studio

Hello! I'm here with you today to share a couple of little tags I have created using the lovely 7 Dots Studio  Homegrown collection.

I wanted to incorporate some of the complimentary Um WOW Studio Chipboard into these little tags. So I decided on the Poppy Pod and the Bird n Branch as focal points.

I began by adding some heavy gesso through the poppy pod stencil and once it was dry I sprayed some coordinating colours over the top to enhance their presence.

I also added some stamping using the Homegrown clear stamp set in both the script and the stars.

I finished them off with some black highlighting and some titles from the word stickers.

These little tags will make perfect gift tags for friends birthdays.

I hope you have enjoyed my little creations. I'll see you all again soon xx

An Art Journal Spread for VLVS!

Hello my lovely friends. I'm here with you today to share a little journal spread I created using the gorgeous rubber from Viva Las Vegastamps.

Lots and lots of layers went into this one! And a little bit of wine!!

And then I decided I needed a little feature piece so I created this little boy from the "Striped Leggings" stamp, the "Crown" stamp and the "Horned Boy" stamp. I think together they make a very cool Elizabethan style boy!

Right down to the red tights!!

You can see some of the layers I created in this close up photo below.

I love just playing and creating freely on pages. No commitment to an art journal. If I like it I'll stick it in, if I don't I'll chop it up and use it on another art journal page!

"Just Love Your Style" A Layout for Viva Las Vegastamps

Hellooooo Today I'm here to share a layout I have created using some of the Graffiti themed stamps from Viva Las Vegastamps!

I'll let you in on a little secret ............ I once was a rat bag of a kid!

Yes I was one of those obnoxious teenagers in the 80's that thought that painting on a public wall was ok because it was "ART" and well because the wall was boring any way!

And then I grew up *shrug*

Now I just deface pretty paper and stuff .... LOL
Either way that's where I learnt to write "street style" and what better way to put it to use than to add it to a grungy page!

I can't say i ever thought it would come in handy knowing this skill ..... but you never know when you'll need to get your Graffiti on!!!

I'm a bit rusty but once I got started it all came flooding back. The VLVS stamps (The Banksy style one's in particular) just lend themselves to a street art kind of design.

I seriously had SOOOOOOOO much fun creating this. I'm pretty sure you'll see some more of my "street art" surface over the next few months!
